Blackfords Winter league 24/25 Result.

The popular Blackfords winter league came to a conclusion on Saturday after what was a fairly grueling campaign. With four Angler’s in with a chance of taking the top prize and the coverted title, it was Telfords Paul Bucknall who took the honours. Drawing fancied peg 80 on the day Bucky managed to snare 2 Bream for 6lb 6oz for the all important section win and impressively finishing on a perfect 5 points which is a first for the winter league. Dave Ridgeway finished off his campaign on peg 77 but unfortunately no bites were forthcoming, however having been super consistent over the previous rounds, Dave secured second spot with a creditable 8 points. Gary Oliver who won the league on the last two occasions came with a late charge to secure 3rd  place and also winning the match on the day with 13lb 1oz from peg 53. That gave Gaz 9 points the same as fourth placed Kevin Tipton.However Gary took it on weight by just over 2lb.Nev Bailey finished on 10 points to seal 5th spot. Weight again came into play as Steve Davies took 6th place with 11 points the same as Barry Millward however Steve finished 12lb better off meaning that Barry had to settle for 7th spot  Mick Tonks completed the frame with a section win on the day giving him a 12 point total.    The remaining scores were as follows

Gavin Wyman.        15 points.

Alan Evens, Jason Bucknall and John Seagrave  16 points.

Bob Allatt, Ron Nicholls  and Dennis Kneller 17 points.

John O’driscoll.            18 points.

Simon Twaddell and Steve Mcqueen. 19 points.

Brian Ashley, Henry, Keith Sproston and Derek Marston.       21 points

Barry Wilcox.          22 points.

Tom Roberts.         25 points.

Anthony Colley.      27 points.
