The long awaited winter league got underway at a very wet and windy Calf Heath reservoir. Considering the sudden change in conditions there were still some decent catches.  Kevin Tipton continued his good run of form taking taking top spot with 29lb 10oz of mainly Skimmers. Drawn on peg 55 on the point he got work with the  cage feeder fished in conjunction with maggots and worm catching steadily all day but  ringing the changes if things went a bit quiet. Second spot went to Uttoxeters Shane Hodgkinson from peg 48.Again cage feeder and worm did the damage as he picked off 35 Skimmers for a creditable 20lb 8oz. Steady Dennis  Kneller completed the frame from peg 78 on the tins. A combination of methods accounted for his pleasing 19lb 10oz  net of fish.
