Blackfords Progressive Winter league 2025/26

Well where does the time go , yet another Winter league has drawn to a close. This campaign came not only with the usual challenges that are associated with fishing during the colder months but also the added difficulty of a very low water level due to planned repairs to the reservoir overflow. This years league went right down to wire with anyone of half a dozen anglers in with a chance of claiming the top prize. At the all out the 30 anglers made their way back to the sailing club where Wendy and the team had prepared a cracking buffet for everyone to enjoy whilst they waited for the results. Well what a result it turned out to be as club chairman John Burns lifted this years  title with an ultra consistent display across all six rounds. This year also saw the introduction of a pairs league that went down really well amongst the lads , and the first winners of this weight only format were the Bucknall brothers Paul and Jason.
