Kingswood Lake 24-Hour Carp Match Recap

A few of the committee members recently hosted a 24-hour carp match on Kingswood Lake. Peg fees were collected, with the money split 50/50 between the winner and a chosen charity. This time, the selected charity was Guide Dogs, and we’re pleased to announce that £130 was donated following the event.

Fourteen members took part in the match. Fishing conditions were tough—largely due to the high daytime temperatures and recent events at Kingswood, which likely didn’t help matters.

A huge well done to Pawel, who not only won the match with four fish totalling 53 lbs, but also landed the biggest fish of the session—a stunning 24 lb mirror carp, which was a new personal best for him. That could only mean one thing: a good soaking in the car park to celebrate!

Looking ahead, the committee is planning to host another carp match—this time on Calf Heath—which will be open to all members. Details will be shared soon on Facebook and Clubmate, so keep an eye out!
