Saturday saw the penultimate round of this years winter league and the fishing has become somewhat harder as shockingly half of the field went dry. Furthermore only 5 anglers have managed to dodge the dreaded blank after 5 rounds.One angler who didn’t struggle for bites was Alan Evens  Drawn on peg 54 on the famous point Alan secured his first Blackfords victory with an impressive 16lb 13oz, method feeder fished at 50m did the trick as both Skimmers and Bream were netted. Taking second spot from peg 6 was super consistent Paul Bucknal who has now won his section on each round that he has fished. Opting for both cage and window feeder fished at 50m meters Paul netted one Bream and 5 Skimmers for 9lb 14oz. The frame was completed by John “The Daddy ” Seagrave a highly popular result with the rest of the field. Netting 2 good Bream for 7lb 14oz from peg 80 did the job for Seagey.
