The big talking point at Saturdays sell out was the tale of the naughty net boys. Two anglers were knocked back to 40lb having gone over using only one net, the misjudgement costing both anglers a place in the frame . Well on the day 35 anglers averaged 25lb per man which is an excellent return and further endorsing Calf Heath as a top silver fish venue. Shropshire s Paul Bucknall got back to winning ways with an impressive 58lb 12oz from peg 52. Pellet feeder fished at 14m accounted for lots of Skimmers with the back up of some quality Bream in the latter stages.Dave Nicholls continued his good form after recently returning to the match scene following an enforced short break. He put together an excellent 48lb 8oz from peg 10, cage feeder with ground bait and pinkie kept the bites coming for most of the match. Bob Harris was bumped up to 3rd by virtue of the previously mentioned net penalties.The match secretary put together 40lb 7oz from peg 53 all falling to method feeder tactics. Another angler bumped up the order to complete the frame was Dave “THE ENVELOPE ” Ridgeway,  rarely out of the money he netted a creditable 40lb 2oz from peg 14, taken on a combination of pole and feeder tactics.
