Well that’s it folks, another successful winter league came to an exciting conclusion on Saturday. With 3 anglers in with a shout of top spot and several more hoping to take one of the 8 prizes there were many twists and turns during the five hour match.. There was a real buzz around the lake as league leader Dennis Kneller  was drawn on peg 5 and second placed Gary Oliver was next door on peg 6. This was made even spicier as reigning champion Gary was looking to make it back to back titles . Then just drop in for good measure that 3rd paced Kevin Tipton was on peg 55 on the point.

Well what a match,  Tippo on 55 got his head down and did what he does best putting together a cracking bag of Skimmers and left Dennis and Gaz to battle it out . With 30 minutes to go it was looking like Dennis may have done enough? However Gary was never going to go down without a fight and a change of tactics late on  resulted in a 5lb Bream and 2 Skimmers.

So back to the Hollies Cafe for the lads where Nev and Bob could  finalise the results and present the prizes.

2nd.        Dennis Kneller  6 points  dropping  2 points with a combined weight of 97lb 13oz.

3rd.        Kevin Tipton  6 points dropping  2 points with a combined weight of 84lb 7oz.

6th.   Shane Hodgkinson.  11 points . Dropping 4 points.
