But for a couple of late cancellations it was a sell out at Calf Heath for what turned out to be a tough day for many. On the day the 32 man field averaged a modest 6.5lb . One angler who didn’t struggle for bites was Pete Jones, returning to match fishing after recovering from a challenging illness he made no mistake from peg 56 on the point. Method feeder fished at 45m accounted for his 21lb 3oz winning bag. Tony Walsh secured second spot with a cracking bag of silvers including a stunning Roach just shy of 2lb. Drawn on peg 48 Tony opted for a predominantly pole approach and managed to put together an excellent 19lb 13oz  . Finishing a very well received third was long standing member Henry Smaelec. Struggling for the first hour or so Henry decided to fish long on method feeder and the result was a run of quality Bream for 19lb 9oz.
