Twenty three anglers took part in Saturdays encounter and although the water level is slightly up a tough day was expected due to plenty of Cormorant activity.  Understandably the fish spook easily and getting them to settle can be a challenge. On the day Malc Appleby gained his first Calf Heath victory with a very creditable 20lb 8oz.  Drawn on peg 55 on the point Malc tried both cage feeder and method feeder but it was the latter that proved fruitful in bringing some quality Bream to the net. Ultra consistent Dave Ridgeway took second spot with yet another very competent display of pole fishing, drawn on peg 47 he put together a lovely mixed bag for 17lb 7oz. Paul Bucknall completed the frame with 15lb from peg 53 by utilising both cage and method feeder tactics.
