Spring Newsletter

Few updates:

Spawning, in response to this heatwave our carp in some of the waters have started to spawn. Rather than close them down for fishing we aim to keep them open with some common sense rules. Members must Not target spawning areas or fish, cast at least 15 meters away from the bank and use bottom baits only. We trust everyone will observe these requests and treat the fish with respect whilst at the society’s waters.

HOOK RULE CHANGE

from May 1st ALL hooks must be barbless.

MAT REMINDER–  regardless of which fish species you are targeting, all members must have either a mat or cradle set up whilst fishing.

MEMORIAL CABINET – have you a friend or relative who has passed away who used to enjoy spending time fishing Blackfords waters. if you would like to have them remembered, please see a representative of the society with their name and year of birth and death. we can then place a small plaque in the calf health cabinet sited by the pool house.

FACEBOOK – want to keep in touch with what’s happening around our waters, then join the official BPAS Facebook page – Blackfords Top Anglers. all that is required if your membership number.  Catch a fish or two, have your photo took holding the fish and send it in to Facebook, smiling is an optional extra!

Many Thanks
