The long awaited winter league got underway at Calf Heath and the sport was somewhat patchy despite the mild weather. Brian Ashley secured top spot on the day with a 21lb 2oz from peg 54. By rotating 3 lines he managed to steadily pick off mainly Skimmers  for a narrow victory. Dave “The Envelope ” Ridgeway continued his good form putting together a nice mixed bag for 21lb all taken on the pole from peg 79. Another angler who opted for the pole was Paul Bucknall who secured 3rd place from peg 50 with 19lb 4oz.
