Few Issues Please Read

Over the weekend the Committee and Bailiffs had to attend the Turf pool, to remove rigs from around the island and over hanging trees. A number of rigs found were not to a safe standard, lead clips with the tail rubber pushed on to tight, inline leads that were pushed on the swivel and would not release, bait floss used as a stringer instead of P.V.A. This is unacceptable there is enough videos and content on the internet for free to show you all how to fish safely. If you really are that unsure on how to fish safely you can now buy rigs from OMC at Angling Direct in Cannock that include the leadcore and the rig all you have to do is tie it on and you are fishing effectively and safely. Failing that you can ask a fellow angler or Bailiff for advice. As a result of this all of our Bailiffs have now been instructed to carry out rig checks on ALL of our waters. Please do not be offended by this, it is to help protect our fish stocks, nobody wants to see tethered, dead fish. The other issue we have had over the last few weeks is parking. Please keep access clear at all times to all lakes, we recently had someone block the gate to Kingswood lake. If emergency services need to gain access quickly, they wouldn’t be able to. Even its just for five minutes just to drop something to a fellow angler or partner please don’t do it, as silly as it may sound you may be putting someone’s life in danger if emergency services need to gain access. If you need to gain access to the lake (you have all received the code when you joined the club) open the gate, shut the gate behind you, scramble the numbers then proceed to drive down.

Many thanksĀ
