Twenty five Hardy anglers turned out at Calf Heath in what can only be described as miserable conditions.  Expectations were for a tough day where cautious feeding and patience would be key.Top rod on the day and a popular winner was club chairman John Burns. Drawing peg 7 on the slabs , he got to work with cage feeder with maggots and pinkies. After a pleasing 5hrs John brought a very creditable 18lb 14oz of Skimmers to the scales to record the win.Taking second spot with 17lb 9oz was Mick Tonks. Drawing peg 5 it was definitely a case of what might have been as Mick arrived late at the venue and didn’t start fishing in earnest until just after 11am. Completing the frame from peg 80 with 13lb 12 oz was Shane Hodgkinson  Struggling for bites Shane decided to stick it out on the 18m line for the latter stages and his decision paid off as he took 3 Bream in the last hour.
