Access Improvements On Turf Pool.
Today committee members and bailiffs have been out working, the aim to improve the access around the Turf pool, removing all the muddy paths and replacing with timber edged, mot based paths that have been levelled and compacted down this starts at peg seven all the way round to peg 17. Not only will it be easier for anglers to get their barrows around to the pegs but because it is now a completely level and a wider path it now makes it safe for members who may be less mobile. We started at 7.30 this morning and lost the light this afternoon, peg 7 and 8, to the car park still needs finishing so bare with us we have left it as safe as possible. Unfortunately we ran out of stone 40 ton was used. Spencer has now ordered another 20 ton to finish and top up some of the pegs. Gary provided two dumper trucks and a digger to make light work of this, big thanks to Gary because without him this would have not been possible.
This was not advertised as a work party due to the amount of machinery present on site and for insurance purpose it was just easier and safer for the club to shut the pool. However next Sunday 21st January there is an official work party on Kingswood lake, finishing off pegs 1 to 9 reinforcing the banks to stop the erosion during flooding. If you are able to attend please be on Kingswood car park by nine o’clock you don’t have to commit to staying all day, we all have family and busy lives and BPAS committee understands this but if you spare a few hours, as more hands will make light work of all rocks that we need to move to build up the bank. If you have a wheel barrow or waders please bring them with you.
Many Thanks BPAS committee.
